Law degree from Portuguese Catholic University - Lisbon (1996/01).

Post-Graduated in Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2001/02)

Professional Experience

Marta Martins has been a managing partner of MM&A since 2011, where she focuses her professional activity essentially on: (i) drafting legal opinions in the most diverse areas of law, namely corporate and commercial law, civil, labor and social security, mining, energy, transport and communications, land, construction and public works and exchange control; (ii) preparation of general and specific tax opinions; (iii) coordination of due diligences; (iv) advising on the implementation of investment projects in the most diverse areas of activity; (v) advising on the implementation of projects for various operations, such as the constitution and registration of companies and commercial representations, commercial licensing and in specific areas, registration and beginning of tax, labor and social security activities, acquisition of shareholdings, sale, asset rental and assignment, mergers and divisions, transformation, extinction and liquidation of companies, capital increases and shareholder agreements; and (vi) holding lectures and workshops on the Local Content Legislation.

She was Manager of the Legal Department at Vale Moçambique Limited between 2008 and 2011, responsible for legal and tax matters related to the operations of Vale Group companies, having coordinated the implementation, installation and operation of the Moatize Coal Mine in Mozambique and in the region.

Before that, she was Senior Consultant - Legal and Tax at PriceWaterhouseCoopers between 2003 and 2008 and Trainee Lawyer at Barrocas & Alves Pereira between 2001 and 2003.
